Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we use and protect the information you provide when registering your interest in the Media Mental Health Professions Council.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

For privacy questions, requests or to withdraw consent, contact contact@mmhpc.org.uk.

Who is responsible for your information?

Media Mental Health Professions Council (MMHPC) is responsible for the personal information collected through this website's interest register. MMHPC is currently being established; this notice will be updated if its legal structure or contact details change.

If you have a question about this notice or your information, email contact@mmhpc.org.uk.

What information we collect

When you register your interest, we may collect:

  • your name and email address;
  • your professional role, and registration body where provided;
  • the areas you are interested in or other voluntary message you provide; and
  • your record of consent, including the date and time it was given.

We do not ask for contributor information, clinical information or other sensitive case information. Please do not include it in the form or in correspondence about the register.

Why we use your information

We use the information in the register to:

  • maintain the Council's founding-interest database;
  • keep you informed about relevant Council developments, opportunities and updates; and
  • understand professional interest as the Council develops its standards, peer supervision and community activity.

We will not sell your information or use it for unrelated purposes.

Our lawful basis and your choices

We rely on your consent to add you to the interest register and send relevant Council updates. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing contact@mmhpc.org.uk. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Where information is stored and who can access it

Interest-register entries are stored in the website's private, server-side database. Access is limited to people who need it to operate the register and Council communications.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this information. Technical suppliers may process information only as necessary to provide the website and related services, and on our instructions. We do not share or sell the register to third parties for their own marketing. Where a technical supplier processes personal information outside the UK, we will use the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

How long we keep it

We will keep your information while you remain on the interest register and only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above. We will delete or anonymise it when you withdraw consent or when it is no longer needed for the register, unless we are required to keep it by law.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email contact@mmhpc.org.uk.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies and changes to this notice

The site uses essential technical functions needed to operate and secure it. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for consent where required.

We may update this notice as the Council develops. The current version will always be available on this page.
